MORE THAN WINS
Lessons beyond the scoreboard.
After 36 years of teaching physical education and 87 seasons coaching, Vin Savastano shares the life lessons, relationships, and moments that mattered most — the ones no scoreboard could ever capture.
The real wins happen long after the final whistle.
More Than Wins is about leadership, family, accountability, resilience, and the kind of mentorship that shapes lives. It is a story for athletes, parents, coaches, educators, and anyone who believes character matters more than the score.
“The scoreboard tells one story. The relationships, the lessons, and the lives changed tell the real one.” — More Than Wins
Built around decades of experience in schools, locker rooms, and on the sidelines, the book highlights the values that carry beyond athletics: discipline, confidence, teamwork, humility, perseverance, and service. It is both a coach’s reflection and a message to the next generation.
